GHRP-2 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2, Pralmorelin) is a synthetic hexapeptide growth hormone secretagogue that activates the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a). It is considered the most potent GHRP in terms of GH release amplitude, though with a broader hormonal profile than the more selective Ipamorelin.
Mechanism of Action
GHRP-2 activates GHS-R1a receptors on pituitary somatotrophs, triggering robust GH release. Unlike Ipamorelin, it also modestly stimulates cortisol and prolactin release, and produces appetite stimulation via ghrelin pathway activation. The GH release amplitude is typically higher than Ipamorelin but with additional hormonal effects.
