For context, I'm an MD and true supporter of GLP-1s. Based on the current evidence available, they are potentially one of the "unlocks" we will achieve in attaining longevity. But I must admit. I don't know much about any other peptides that are discussed in here. And I want to hear your experiences in what you've tried and what seems to be the benefit that you've experienced. I'm approaching this from an education pov for myself. As I started having a few patients come up to me and ask. Full disclosure, my current position on unregulated peptide market is that if they were safe and effective, they would have been commercialized by pharma. So I'm suspicious but also curious. Let's make this an exchange of ideas and knowledge. I'm open to doing more research on this and sharing what I've found from the scientific literature as well.

Peptide research is having a moment. Even doctors are starting to ask questions, not just give answers. A recent post from an MD on Reddit’s r/Biohackers summed it up: GLP-1 peptides have broken through into mainstream longevity discussions, but the rest of the peptide space? Still a wild frontier.

Here’s the setup: This physician openly supports GLP-1 agonists for their potential in longevity research. But beyond that, he admits he’s in new territory. Instead of shutting down the conversation, he’s asking for real-world insights from the research community. That’s a big shift. Peptide research is no longer just for the hardcore biohackers and early adopters. Even the gatekeepers of clinical practice are getting curious.

The post invites researchers and enthusiasts to lay out their experiences:

Which research peptides have you explored?

What benefits did you observe in your projects?

Where did the science fall short—or surprise you?

Key takeaway: Curiosity is catching up to caution. The old line—“If these peptides did anything, pharma would have snapped them up”—isn’t shutting down debate anymore. Instead, researchers are focusing on peer-to-peer learning and sharing data, not just waiting for top-down approval.

This is how research communities grow: transparency, open questions, and a willingness to learn from each other. With peptides like GLP-1s blazing the trail, it’s clear the rest of the field is wide open for discovery. Expect a lot more collaboration, and a lot more breakthroughs, as researchers keep pushing the conversation forward.
