Overview
Kisspeptin is a neuropeptide that acts as the master upstream regulator of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis. Produced by neurons in the hypothalamic arcuate and anteroventral periventricular nuclei, it is the primary activator of GnRH (gonadotropin-releasing hormone) neurons, making it the gatekeeper of reproductive function.
