Overview
GHRP-6 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-6) is a synthetic hexapeptide and one of the first ghrelin receptor agonists discovered. It produces strong GH release accompanied by significant appetite stimulation, cortisol elevation, and prolactin release. It is the least selective of the commonly used GHRPs.
Mechanism of Action
GHRP-6 activates GHS-R1a with broad downstream effects. GH release is robust but accompanied by hunger (via hypothalamic appetite circuits), cortisol secretion (via ACTH stimulation), and prolactin release. The strong appetite stimulation can be either beneficial or undesirable depending on research goals.
